The Pennsylvania State System of Greater Training earned a key approval in its long-planned integration of six state universities. The Center States Fee on Greater Training—the system’s accreditor—accredited the merger of Bloomsburg College, Lock Haven College and Mansfield College, Bloomsburg officers introduced Tuesday. The three establishments will formally merge on July 1.
“The fee’s choice is one other constructive step towards constructing a powerhouse establishment that can present extra alternatives for college students than any of the colleges might by itself,” Dan Greenstein, chancellor of the state system, stated in a press launch. “Collectively, they may harness the wealthy heritage of accomplice campuses and mix their strengths in assembly the excessive requirements required for accreditation whereas delivering reasonably priced, prime quality, career-relevant training to all.”
Collectively, the three establishments shall be referred to as the Commonwealth College of Pennsylvania, although every will retain its particular person identify.
